ClimaTech
Insulated Glass Package in Preservation Windows features Solarban®60
Multiple-Layer Low-Emissivity Glass, the latest advancement in low-emissivity
glass coatings. Annealed flat glass is vacuum coated with multiple
layers of silver and titanium that combine to create high-efficiency
glass with unsurpassed properties of energy-efficiency, UV reflection
clarity, damage reduction , and visible light transmittance. The
result is added comfort and energy efficiency in both the winter and
summer.

ClimaTech
Glass has patented coatings that reflect your home's heat back
into the room in winter and repel the sun's heat and damaging
rays in summer. |

SST Non-Metal Spacer - SST provides the
highest resistance to conduction and eliminates metal to glass
contact and conduction.
Many windows are
constructed with a metal spacer between the panes to give the
insulating glass unit structural stability. Unfortunately,
these metal edges conduct cold from the outside of your home at
a rate up to 120% high than at the center of the glass
area. This can create condensation problems at the window
edge, damaging woodwork and draperies.. |
Preservation Windows combine a
structural foam spacer with a seal of hot melt butyl to create a
"warm" non-conductive edge, so Preservation Windows
virtually eliminate condensation. And, SST spacer's design
also minimizes the subtle movement of glass panes caused by
changes in temperature -- helping to prevent seal failure and
reducing stress on glass panes. |

ClimaTech's
Low-Emisivity Glass is the Clearest, Highest Performing Glass Available
Today
When discussing glass
performance, it's important to understand U-value and R-value, the two
primary terms the industry uses to describe the energy performance of
windows.
U-Value is
the rate at which heat flows through a window from indoors to
outdoors. Call it heat loss.
R-Value is
the thermal resistance of the glass to that heat loss. The higher
the R-value, the better the glass resists heat loss, and saves your
energy.
How comfortable you
feel in a room is related to indoor glass surface temperature. The
closer the glass surface temperature remains to normal room conditions
(70°F), the more comfortable you will feel.
With its low rate of
heat loss (or low U-value), our ClimaTech Insulating Glass
Packages, featuring Solarban 60 Low-E Glass, maintain higher wintertime
glass temperatures -- and lower summertime glass temperatures -- making
you feel more comfortable. Add the fact that our ClimaTech
insulating glass packages can increase center of glass R-value by over
300% and your Preservation Windows will be warmer both at the edges and
across the entire glass area.
